COVID-19 restrictions have loosened somewhat.  We begin now to look at more options in our adoption process. While we know that the main source of spread of the disease is through mucous droplets, we also realize that there is a slight chance that it can be picked up from surfaces. With great respect for our foster homes and adoptive homes, we wish to minimize risk as much as possible, while providing as stress-free adoption as possible for our foster animals.

Now that in-home adoptions (and in some cases meet and greets) are a possibility, we do recommend that the general guidelines for safety be followed, including:

  • Social distancing of 6 feet
  • No in-home visits if someone is feeling ill
  • Masks when considered appropriate or social distancing is not possible
  • Handwashing
  • Surface disinfecting

Availability of non-virtual meet and greets prior to adoptions are based upon the foster home and applicant. The same is true for in-home adoptions. Options for no in-home adoptions are possible.

***Many thanks to Laura J. White, Ph,D., who created the watercolor she generously allowed Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue to use as our logo. Laura is a professor in Florida, where she loves her cats and rescues ducks!!

Update: Sadly, on October 30, 2021, Dr. White succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle. She will be missed. Her legacy lives on through her artwork, her time with the U.S. Navy, and her work with humans and animals alike. May we all shine as brightly as did she.
