Titus is listed through our "matchmaker" services. He is not currently a foster animal of Purr-Fect Match, but we have verified that he is up to date on shots, two of our volunteers have met him, and the owner will talk with you about adoption and answer questions.

Titus is a beautiful coonhound who is not a hunting dog. He is afraid of loud sounds, and enjoys being part of an indoor family.  He is full of fun and love. He will need training because of some over-exuberance and tendencies to not realize who the alpha is.  But he loves adults and most other dogs (when he is not being protective).  By all accounts, he also gets along with cats.

Although a sweet dog, he has suffered from extreme jealousy since the owners' son was born four years ago. He acts like the youngster is one of his litter mates instead of one of the humans.  This has lead to nipping when his territory is invaded as well as peeing/pooping in inappropriate places to express himself.  At this time, he is not allowed on furniture and the nipping behavior has stopped. He does not eliminate inappropriately when in the kennel or when the owners are home.

Titus will need to be trained to overcome some issues.  We do not believe he should be around small children or in any environment where there is a lot of activity/noise. People who understand how to gently control and train a larger dog would be excellent potential adopters for this boy.

If you are interested in Titus, please email us at purrfectmatch13@gmail.com if you have questions that we may pass along to the owner. You may fill out the dog adoption application (with no strings attached) if you are interested in adopting Titus, and we will forward the information to his owner, who will contact you.  It can be found on our website: http://purrfectmatch.rescuegroups.org.

If you are interested in fostering Titus for PFM, please contact us at purrfectmatch13@gmail.com.

PFM acts as an intermediary in this case, so is not involved in the actual adoption or in "guaranteeing" anything about the animal, except that his medical record has been verified.
