MAX Came to us about a year ago (2016). He was adopted and sadly was returned as they felt he wasn't happy in the home and they could not give him what he needed. Max is with a foster home now in Sheboygan WI and we are learning what he needs to make his life fulfilling.
Some things we have learned is that Max is very smart. He wants to please and he wants to be loved. He needs to build confidence as he is very scared - just unsure of what is going on. An ideal home for Max would be one with a fenced yard and possibly another dog his size to bond with. Max is great with cats and loves older respectful children! Max loves to give kisses! He walks great on a leash and is house trained. He does not like to be confined - but a crate is not needed as he will just hang out on the floor until you return. Max would love a family that has a person home most of the time. He does have some abandonment issues which are being worked on with confidence building. Max is terrified of thunder storms. He will try to hide - so it is best not to confine him or face destruction of doors or rooms. He will just pace and search for the place he feels is the safest until the storm subsides. Max is a grazer for food - which could change if he has a K9 buddy in the home. Max is considered a senior at 8 years young, but don't let that fool you! He is still very active and would love to go hiking or long walks with his owner. Max would like a home where it is calm and structured. He does not like loud noises, yelling or loud voiced people - that scares him. Max would love to go to school to bond with his new family. Max LOVES car rides - his key words are RIDE and WALK. If you say them - be prepared to go! Max loves his treats and will catch a treat if thrown in the air. Max does not like his nails trimmed or his paws touched - so he wont shake paws. Max loves his ears rubbed and will lean into your leg for constant attention! Max rarely barks. Max loves just about everyone - and will greet them with happy tail wag!
